Carpathian region is a geographical region in the foothills of the Carpathians. The main part is in the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk region and south of Lviv region of Ukraine. A partial synonym of Carpathian is the term Galicia, Galicia (sometimes Eastern Galicia). It is inhabited in the south by ethnographic groups: in the south - Hutsuls, in the west - fights and lemkos, in the east - by Pokutans, in the north by opolyans.

The climate is temperate continental. The region offers a lot of hiking trails. The main tourist areas in the Carpathian region are: Ivano-Frankivsk region and Lviv region. To date, the most popular resorts are resorts and ski resorts. Skiing is Bukovel and Slavske, medical - Morshyn, Truskavets.
